We need your help!

MommiesInMind wants to be your go to site for deals, freebies and giveaways. Recently, we have been in contact with various companies regarding giveaways who would not work with us because our Google subscribers were low. We explained that we have a large fan base on Facebook, but apparently Google subscribers are how companies judge a blogs success. So, we are asking our readers to become a Google subscriber. You do not have to have a Gmail account and it will not change how you receive our info. We hope by doing this, we can bring you the best giveaways on the web!

GIVEAWAY!!!! The Miracle Blanket

When I first brought my daughter home from the hospital I tried to swaddle her the way the nurses showed me.  My little one was able to get out of the swaddle constantly.  Wanting her to sleep through the night, I researched many different swaddle blankets and thankfully found the "The Miracle Blanket."  This blanket allowed me to happily swaddle my baby and help her feel safe and secure.  The material is very soft to the touch and withstood multiple trips into the wash.
Because of my wonderful experience with this product, we have teamed up with Miracle Blanket to do a giveaway.
We are asking each participant to please FAVORITE Miracle Blanket on Twitter at http://twitter.com/#!/MiracleBlanket and on Facebook at
http://www.facebook.com/MiracleBlanket. We will randomly select a winner of a Miracle Blanket on Monday night and the winner will be announced on Miracle Blanket’s Twitter page and Facebook page the morning of Tuesday, November 9th.
To enter this giveaway, please leave your name and e-mail address as a comment below.  Also, for a 2nd entry for this, tell you funniest or most interesting “getting baby to sleep” story.
Please have all entries in by 12:00 on Monday

  2. I can't think of a funny or particularly interesting story in getting my babies to sleep, but I will say that the Miracle Blanket helped us SO much. We bought one for my daughter when she was a baby and she immediately began sleeping longer stretches. When my next son was born, we used it with him, and it too helped him sleep longer. We are expecting again in January and would love to win a new Miracle Blanket as the one we have is PINK (we are having a boy) and has been well used and loved with already having gone through 2 babies. It's held up SO well and I have to say I absolutely LOVE Miracle Blanket! (Is that interesting enough? Lol!)
    Thanks!

  4. Looking back....
Before she slept through the entire night, she would wake for a 4oz bottle around 3AM. Well one evening, she was just still unhappy after that bottle so I had my husband make up another bottle. Needless to say, 10 OUNCES LATER she was finally asleep and happy. Did someone say growth spurt???

    Second entry story submission:
My daughter was 5 weeks old when one evening she got very fussy. Marion is such an well-tempered baby that I got a bit concerned as I tried varies things to calm her down.

None of the usual things worked. She didn't want to eat. Her diaper was clean. She didn't care if she was sitting up or being rocked.

After about 15 minutes (though it seemed like an hour or more), I resorted to the techniques I learned from Dr. Karp's book. The first step is to swaddle the baby.

I laid out the swaddling blanket. Laid Marion on it and set to work. She was completely uncooperative. Flailing around and screaming. Finally, I got far enough into the swaddling process that I was securing her second arm.

    Suddenly, she went silent.

Thinking that I had horribly hurt my baby, I looked up quickly to her face. She was smiling.

My 5 week old had been telling me "Mommy's it's bedtime. Why aren't I in bed?" I just wasn't listening.

  6. My worst sleep story ever is when my kids (i had only 4 at the time) were all really sick. I sat up rocking kids for 5 days straight. I got to sleep an hour or two a day broken up here and there. They were soooo sick! My one had croup really badly and I had to keep taking him to the dr for steroid shots so he could breath...every few hours running 20 minutes away for his shots. Then another came down with it and he got a massive fever. he broke out in this strange rash. Ran him to the dr. They gave him a steroid shot. The next morning he was so completely covered in this bright red rash and hives. Had to run him back to the dr! The dr just looked at me covered her mouth and said "Oh My gosh, I don't think I have EVER seen anyone look so bad as you! I was so tired and worn down. I immediately busted into tears. And just sobbed. THen surprize surprize I ended up sick and got to feel miserable for days.

  8. This isn't so funny to me, but my second son is now almost 3 months old, and he is the snuggle baby I (thought I) wanted. He refuses to be put down or held by anyone but me, so he spends most of his naps in the Moby on my chest!

  10. I don't have a particularly funny story about getting my little ones to sleep...but I know we've done everything but stand on our heads! :) It's hard to remember anything we did during those long, crazy days and nights of sleep deprivation! :) I'd love this for baby #4! :)

I wish I had a funy or interesting story! Not so funny to me that my 2 1/2 year old still doesn't sleep through the night and my newborn is sleeping better than she is! Hoping to win one of these to help him sleep better so I only have 1 baby up in the middle of the night :)
